Interesting, hematite was in the pool of different answers google was giving me. When scratching on both concrete and tile it’s actually leaving a black residue? It’s earned a spot on my shelf regardless lol.

Hmmm...maybe it is its similar cousin magnetite:



It leaves a black streak and looks similar, but the main difference is that it is magnetic, which hematite isn't. But it is also harder so it doesn't make sense that you could scratch it with your fingernail. Its hardness on the Mohs Hardness Scale is 5-6. Perhaps see if it is attracted to a metal object?
