Going against the tide here, but I say Dovii all the way. Umbee are pretty until you get to the face. My wife has dubbed them Uglyferum, lol. Dovii are bad *** all the way. If only we had blakc ones in the hobby.
Umbee or Dovii?

I like Dovii, personally. Both are nice, Dovii if I had to choose. I've never owned an Umbee, however my Dovii was never shy like most say... he was very out going fronm like 4.5" and he was the 2nd smallest fish of about a dozen too. I just really love the blue in the Dovii's fins. Good luck either way.
i really wanna keep both as ive never had either but from what i hear the umbee is a real tank of a fish
my doviis are nice but the personality of my umbee is unbelievable. i moved places and it took him all of two days to get acclimated and start snapping at me again. luckily when i move the umbee to the big tank ill be able to keep my doviis for a while in my 125. cant get the tank done fast enough but being that its my first true diy tank its taking some time. got the stand built next is the sump system.
I had about 7 different umbees and 7 different doviis.
I found that the umbees swim around more and come at you more where as the dovii just bunk under the cover.

im very surprised to see all the umbee responses as i have seen several umbee vs dovii threads in my 4 yrs of being here and i think this is the first one that more peeps vote for the umbee. all the other ones were dovii all the way. personally i like the looks of a dovii more but wish it would swim more like umbee
