i like how light colored the body of your male is and how blue his extensions and face are . i had a umbee before from shannon forrest (rare and unusual cichlids) that was the same . sometimes i guess that lighting could do that but all your pictures are the same . very nice umbee........

yeah it's definitely the lighting and tank substrate that makes him look lighter. to be honest i prefer the look of him in darker substrate but my bugger tank was already set up with white sand.. here is the same umbee in the darker substrate

definitely recommend getting one man. they have awesome personality - IMO better than dovii
