UMBEE Pair Laying Eggs again!

They have wrigglers already... should be free swimming by tomorrow or next day. I'm happy because they finally started eating like Umbees... currently taking massivore delite, nls thera a+ and chopped up earthworms, even from the surface. It took them 5 weeks to take food from me without hesitating. The female is also bolder and she now attacks the siphon instead of just hiding during water changes lol I'm having a lot of fun with them lately.

It does sound like you are having fun with them. Well that's awesome that you have wrigglers this time. The parents are learning fast and apparently eating quite well too. I'll definitely check back for more news on the fry.

Mine too are a bit hesitant to eat. I haven't seen the female eat, the male will take a piece of massivore and then pick off the bottom what's left of one pellet. My first spawn was unsuccessful as well I don't think the male fertilized the eggs, I saw him attempting to tho. Maybe mine are a bit to small, he's only 5" she's about 4"

Mine were like that for 5 or so weeks as I said. It was very frustrating because I don't have a lot of patience and had to vacuum all the food from the substrate every time I tried to feed em. The male only ate a catfish and some leftovers. Female started eating pellets first and then the male followed, now they both greet me for food in the morning. Massivore is a pretty big pellet, I cut it in 4 parts before feeding it to them.

I don't think they're too small to spawn, mine are just a little bigger than that, probably around the same size when I got them like 6 weeks ago, and they spawned twice already.
