Umbee pair - proven fertile

This pair is small, but they are on eggs for the second time and there are still fry from last spawn in there. Anyone want a pair of these badly enough to pay $1000?

I wouldn't pay 1000 for these. I'd say 150-200 for these. I think 1000 is pushing it too far. Just my 2 cents. Nice pair by the way.

Considering one spawn of fry sells for far more than $200 I think you must be kidding right? 2 inchers sell for $10....

$1000 might be much but $200 is not even in the ball park. I do not think you can find a spawning pair anywhere else at this time? THey are not my fish, I just told the owner of the fish that he should consider selling them. They are small, possibly even stunted since the previous ownerkept them in a small tnak. The male is about 6 inches and the female about 4. They exist and spawn happily in a 60 galon tank right now.

Please tell me you're not serious......... I'd definately be interested but NOWHERE near $1000! Esp. for a stunted pair!?! Where are you located for starters......

Get real, lol, umbees aren't that rare. Maybe try $150, that'll be a bit more realistic for a proven pair. Especially given their current size. Gl with the sell.

how big are they...don't look to big..also what gen x are they? if its 4-5 inch and possibley f1 or f2...they would probably go for 150 the most

Hey they are your fish. Sell them for whatever you want. Getting what you want and what others are willing to pay is another thing.

Ok, thanks for the input guys. I will tell him to keep them. I threw the thousand out there for the heck of it. They will make that much money pretty quickly with the fry though

I want to reiterate they are not mine. The owner said someone told him to list them for that price and that person is a well known vendor so I threw that number out to see what people were willing to pay.

Take into consideration that ^^ and the fact that even though you sell umbie fry for $10.00 a peice, one still has to raise, feed, put work in to get those fry, then peddle them to lfs or ship them. Plus this isn't the only breeding pair around.
