man I have learned this species is a real pain in the as$ to photograph just like JD's can be sometimes. No matter what angle or setting I try. The flash still washes off all the blue green pearl that completely covers his entire side. The only place it will capture this is on the fins, so the crappy no flash pics are just to get an idea of the true color. Even if you don't get a clear picture im sorry even they did not come out the way I wanted. I know it is possible, because I have seen many good pics taken by hobbyists, but I sure have not mastered the trick lol

He is a bad boy and rules his pond. Very owner responsive too. Comes right up to the side begging for food every time I am out in the fish room. I have waited for a long time to get my hands on one of these fish. They are so hard to come by ( large one's in the hobby). Been keeping fish for almost 17 years now, and have kept almost everything. Just never could get one. Now that I do. Please believe boys and girls. This fish will get BIG at the Bastard's house :headbang2;) Fish is about 10.5-11'' right now well see where he is at in a year from now:popcorn:

greenterra, there's literally 1,000's of em down here!!! there's 1 breeding pair at rayonne in reservoir and they wont stop breeding there virtually giving them away...

It looks nice. I don't use a flash, because it messes all the colors up on my fish. If you take about 3 dozen shots, you should probably manage at least 3 kind of sort of in focus ones. The rest will be the fish moving right as you take the picture.

cool umbee! =] looks like mines but mines just way smaller than yours lol but how big is he...?
