Wow!! He is a monster, what size tank is that you have them in? The female looks good to :) Nice set up... I like the way you cut the hole in the divider... What do you feed them? If I had them I would never leave the room, lol...
 
I feed hikari, massivore, krill, talapia, bloodworms. but mostly pellets. and the hole in divider has a hinged door attached so i can open and close freely. i dont need the divider in there. its mainly a comfort thing for the female, thats her side i mean they use whole tank but they always retreat to their own side when they need a break from eachother:) and they are in my living room so i see them all day:)
 
What's the growth rate like on those guys and max size they get? What's a suitable tank size for them? Might be interested in grabbing some growouts from you.
 
they should grow about an inch a month give or take depending on tank size and water quality. they get about the same size as a dovii roughly 2' again depending on tank size and thats at full maturity around 4 yrs plus. until then you can get away with a 180 til they reach 14-15" which should be about a year and half or two. but bigger is always better. the tank size has always been a debate. and if your tryin for a pair then youll prolly have to move them before they reach the 14" mark. mine is about there. im getting ready to pull out some decorations to make more room till this summer when i get a larger tank:) If things work out for me ill have 3 different bloodlines of F1 Rio Mag umbees ill be growing out and trying to pair.

Thank you:) and as far as the harassing goes, what you see in the video is him ushering her back to her side with the kids while he defends them from me;) He is more of a lover and protector not a wife beater like some others lol

he was about 10-11" when i got him. I used to wc every other day but with work being busy i change 30-40% twice a week and i once or twice a day depending on work schedule:) and thank you
