just for the sake of getting on pats nerves ill go with umbees, but hey, ive never owned either fish.

Sorry pat it wouldn't... your tem gets along with arows and lots of other stuff... throw a 24" umbie in that tank and everything would be dead or damn close.. at least de-scaled.. :)

Pbass aggression isn't the same as I don't want anyone or anything no matter if it's 6ft or not near me aggression..

peas are not really an aggressive cichlid but if another fish pickes on it it will fight back, and if we're talking about a 30+ inch tem and a 20+ inch umbee my money will alwats be on the tem, they are both powerful fish, but a tem has many advatages.

i have a 8 inch mono that DESTROYED a 6 inch flowerhorn because the FH nipped its tail.

bwaha I've lost many pbass to more common less aggressive cichlids like midas. Don't make me count..

I still put my money if they're even close to the same size on umbie. Like I said pbass can be a community fish.. you will never catch a umbie in a community tank no matter how big it is.. While tems have power I don't think similarly size one could take the constant beating..

Different strokes for different folks.. and to each his own..

Most of the people saying tem probably don't even know what a umbie is.. lol
