All I know is my 3 inch Umbie already has wicked teeth and stands up to my 6-7 Red Devil and RT. He is a cool little dude. And I can't wait to get him into my 300 so I can get him nice and huge. Won't be fighting him anytime though. Just saying I like my fish :>
Ive never heard of a tem hitting 40"....in the 30"+ yes...not 40".
Most cichla, Tems included dont really eat much while breeding...and I can assure you a full grown Umbee would not be regarded as food. Not while there are smaller prey items available. This thread is in fact pointless ,but thats the fun of it...dont over analyze and get all crazy over who has a bigger....****. If both are full grown and breeding, my money is still on the Tem...does it really matter.....no.

I really doubt an umbee would get eaten, so thats still out of the picture. and i haven't seen a 40" pbass either, so that takes away some of the advantage of the tem. i think the umbee is aggressive enough to use its strength over and over and over again attacking the pbass....pbass will probably get some nice hits in, but in the end i think you'll end up with a dead bass.
