How long could a male umbriferum live in a 150g tank (5x2x2) before it would need a larger tank? i currently do not have room for a larger tank but should be able to purchase a larger tank within roughly a year or so in which case i will probably go for a 6x3x2 for the single fish. I currently have an empty 150 and have a craving to get an umbee. any opinions/advice would be much appreciated

Nice foot print. I think you could do 2 yrs or so. Just dont feed him everyday to keep him from taking off. Get a 1" feed him 4 days a week or a small amount once a day.
depends on how fast our fish grows so i wont give you a timetable but id say till it hits around 15" or so which all really depends on feeding and water changes, the more food you feed and water you change its more than likely to grow much faster. good luck and have fun cause umbees are awesome fish
