Nice Beani, great finage! How is the interaction? More of a wet pet or a pet?

Thank you all, I am very lucky to have this guy, I would like to thank my good friend Volcomstone for making this happen. NWatson, this guy at first was just a pet, very shy and would not come out of his cave to greet me but now he is very confident in his tank and approaches the front of the tank flaring his gills and spreading his fins at me. Slapping the front of the tank with his caudual fins sometimes. So I would say a Wetpet. So much so I had to give him a name. Benzino the Beani..:)

Yes it was your umbee, sorry. I only watched a couple seconds and turned it off. It's late and I'm on an iPhone so small screen. Nothing against you personally, he's obviously enjoying them as well. I just used to keep mice as pets when I was a kid. :(

I'm thinking of getting beani actually but the bloat thing is scaring me a bit....

I understand about the mice thing, I wasn't offended. :) As for Beani, it is a wonderful and beautiful Cichlid to keep don't let the bloat thing scare you. If you keep the tank highly oxygenated with good filtration and most importantly minimize the stress in the aquarium, you should have no problems with your Beani bloating. What I mean by minimizing the stress in the aquarium is by either keeping the fish alone, in pairs or where it is the top fish in the tank. I find Beani to be very stress prone and this can trigger them to bloat. Some say to keep them on a high veggie diet but my guy eats both veggie and protein rich foods and has never bloated. It is most definitely not a beginner Cichlid and the fish keeper must have the know how to treat his or her fish if bloat was to occur. So once again I can understand why you would be hesitant on getting one but to me they are worth the challenge.:)
