Beast mode! That football sized female is badass.
Thanks brother, you are one of the few that get to see them in person so you know what I'm saying is true. These guys are MONSTERS
Beast, what a great strain you brought back. What have you noticed in color from parents to the fry you have raised.....more colors in the F1 tanked raised? From what I have seen it seems the younger grow outs have a darker base and a little more blue. Could just be the pics and mood when the pics are taken. It could also be that you have mature adults that show a little less color at there age.....they could be fairly old? Any guess to their age from what you know....maybe 7 yrs or so?
Im guessing there no older then 3-4 years possibly 5 and that's just basing it of the growth rate of there young and other Umbees Ive kept in the past. The F-1's from this pair have turned out amazing and even within them you can see some variation among there coloration such as, some have more blue where others have more black on there scales and visa versa, giving each fish there own individual look but still being able to identify what strain they are. The F-1's are displaying the same coloration as the parents(reds, blacks and blues) however some are more intense and I believe there are a few factors that play in to that. For One genetics, I did not spawn the best this location has to offer but still that make up lies within there DNA. Two and Three Your Husbandry and there diet. The food we feed our fish(NLS,Hikari, etc) are loaded with vitamins which help in there development of built and colors and 3rd is your Husbandry as a fish keeper. The care you provide for your fish (clean water, filtration, food etc) will all help maximize your fishes potentials always...
Its also possible that the genes mixed between the parents could be producing offspring that can potentially out shine the parents.
Judging from how some many of the Gorillus blue F1's are turning out , UMBEEKING hit a grandslam in forming that wild pair when it comes to quality offspring.
Thank you brother.... there were other Gorillus Blues that were more colorful then the male I kept but they were either to big to transport or did not make the trip back. So I believe through the F-1's were able to see the best this strain has to offer.
Lookin good bro!! I think the f1 out did their parents, which imo is always a good thing. Since I've owned mine there is no going back. So now I must keep both, the Gorillus and magnumx

keep up the great work.
I believe so also. They are all turning amazing! all unique and beautiful. All dominate males are turning black and posses the same coloration as there parents, However more intense

But according to Aquamojo these guys should have blue freckles like the blue Umbee and not be able to turn black because he believed it was there diet that made them that way.. LOL... Wrong!!!! Clearly
Mo don't know Jack!!! about these Blacks!!!!!

They look awesome fam

Can't wait for mine to get that big.
Thank you brother !!!!
