There is a lot of healthier diet for piranha out there beside liver. You can also feed your piranha with

raw shrimp
scallops
clams
white fish fillets
pellets
silver side
smelt
beef heart
worm

the raw fresh shrimp from the seafod dept. with shrimp still on helps alot with the color of your fish.

thats a great list of food monkey :headbang2 good info

Pevine, you mean shell? (you said with the shrimp still on) :)
Freeze-dried baby shrimp and cichlid pellets are also something to try.

keep in mind that diet is NOT the only way can bring out the color from piranha. It's a combo of

water quality
substrates
light
enviroment
tank space
sick
injury
stress
breeding sign
mood
these can also cause and can change piranha color very often.

A healthy diet is the best place to start. What's the point in having a brightly colored fish, if he looks sickly? Ya know.

Start with health as the #1 priority, everything else will fall into place after that.
