Un-level Floors

Very good read, I had forgotten that they had built older homes like mine with harder and stronger wood than they do today, this is very reassuring. I will still be asking the landlord (who happens to own an architectural firm on the 1st floor) about the supports next time I'm there.

FWIW I have a friend who lives in a third floor studio attic apartment. He runs a set of stacked 75 gallon tanks. These were on steel stands that were placed on a finished 8 ft board with steel plates under the legs. He has never had the slightest issue. It is an old 30's built building.
