Uncles cleaning up 80 gallon tank finally

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Sorry to sound like a noob here but what is a tyheyre?

I misspelled "there". And you are no newb my friend. You are a very soon to be big time MFK (monster feeder keeper), once the goldfish start multiplying start culling the worst swimmers and the ones with less meat. You want plump, muscular and agile feeders for two main reasons: higher protein content and better exercise for the predator.

Good luck, keep us posted.

I will Oscarum monstruoso and you are right live feeders are the best especially with the kind of fish I am planning to keep and you are a walking book of knowledge my friend.

Weeeell, theres a couple more experienced fishkeepers on this forum, and the more I learn the more I realize how much I still dont know.

But yeah, I am pretty knowledgeable, my avatar picture is from 1987 when I started in the hobby with oscars, redbelly piranhas and red snakeheads.

You may not be the most experienced but you have experience and thats what counts. But anyways thanks for the info and knowledge I will make sure to use the tubs and stuff to house live feeders very soon I just need to make some space for them and I will be ready to start my feeder breeder collection.

Thats the beauty of my plan CaptainS, you dont have to wait for any space at all, you can start with brine shrimp in a plastic jug and an airstone. Start off with a few pairs and by the time you set up your plastic tub you can be up and running with the brines. You dont have to wait another day CaptainS, I cant wait to see your setup.

Thanks oscarum and danielcho for all the help I have been making some good progress with learning by doing lots of research and going to aquarium stores for advice but I have been trying to find space for the goldfish tanks and I was thinking the best place would be the garage but its not insolated yet or anything and needs a ton of work so Im looking for a temporary place for it right now but thanks again for the help.

Just grab a gallon jug and a pair of ghost shrimp, you can keep it on your nightstand. There is danger in delay :)

I will do that indeed oscarum that would be a great start.

I cant wait to see it CaptainS, good luck with your monster feeder project, I am proud to have been present at the ground floor of this great venture. If I lived near you I would go and pick out your foundation ghost shrimp breeding pair.

Respect and salutations CaptainS!
