Under estimating fish size

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
A lot of the time when I want to sell fish, I'll measure them when they come up to the glass, but when I actually pull them out and measure them again, they're usually about 1/2" bigger or more. I also think that my fish look small in my tank, but when I take them to a lfs to trade in and they put it in their tanks, I think they look pretty big:eek: And friends will come over and comment on how big my fish are and I don't really notice it.

Glad to see I'm not alone. I also think other peoples fish are bigger than mine.

i think most people under estimate their fishes size. i know i done it when selecting tank mates, my biggest screw up in size was getting my blue acara for putting in with my uaru. i thought the uaru were about 3" and the acara was about 1" but in reality, while thacara was roughly 1", the uaru were about 5" and made the acara look really tiny. im just glad i messed up with such peaceful fish, predatory or aggessive fish and the acara would have had no chance.
