My first thought was wouldnt it be funny if the people conducting the test misjudged the distance and were too close... but then we would have the vid lol

I don't quite understand how a nuclear leak on land in Japan during the ***ushima reactor meltdown was a grave concern as it leaked into the Ocean and a direct nuclear explosion underwater is intentionally done?

This test was one of the first nuclear weapon tests. It was pre all the melt downs as well as military use.

Oh ok, looks all nice and in color but that's crazy how we did things back then without much thought like we also used DDT and dumping PCB's like crazy out here in the Puget Sound.
