Ok I know most of you that watched the super bowl most likely watched at least a few minutes if not the whole new episode of the show undercover boss. So I'm wondering what peoples impressions of the show were.

For those of you who don't know what the show is about I'll give you a little rundown of last nights show.

IF YOU WATCHED SKIP THE FOLLOWING AND PLEASE LET US KNOW YOUR THOUGHTS ON THE SHOW.

The COO of Waste Managment wanted to see what real entry level work was like in his company so he goes undercover as a ex-consturction worker that's being followed by a documentary crew to show what it's like to hold entry level jobs in the real workforce.

the COO (larry) started out by working a sorting line in a recycling plant.

: "boss for the day" is little older lady
: finds out that if you are late from lunch you get docked 2 min. for every min. you are late.
:slow at the job but the "boss" thinks he could be fine with practice

Next day he works Cleaning port-a-johns:

: "boss" is a great fun loving younger guy
: his face is priceless when he learns he has to clean poo all day
: Learns some of the deallines for cleaning are a bit steap 15 johns in 60 min.
: does a good job

day three Working with Jill of all trades

: "boss" is a highly underpaid lady in risk of losing her home
: finds out that "boss" is doing the jobs of like 5 people
: Has a heart warming dinner with her family and learns that she has to live with extended family b/c money issues and are in risk of lossing there dream home

Day 4 Works picking up papper on hills by landfill

: "boss" is older man that has been on dialasis (sp?) for 19 years but still works everyday b/c he has to
: Greatest quote from this job Larry: "what kind of technique do you use to pick this stuff up" Boss: "It's papper, what kind of technique do you want?"
: Boss gets fired b/c he can't fill 1 bag of trash in ten minutes since the boss can even being Ill (first time he ever got fired)

Day 5 Runs on trash truck

: "boss" middle aged woman
: finds out that she works however many hours a day it takes to get 300 houses trash sometimes topping 13 hours a day
: finds out that b/c of productivity goals HE set she has to go to the bathroom in a coffee cansince she can't deviate from the set route due to productivity goals
: finds out that her supervisiors follow the drives and "spy" on them
: meets a metally handycaped lady on the route that reminds him of his challenged daughter

After the week is up he sets down with his underlings and talks about the week. And how it has changed his perspective on his operations. He brings in all the "boss for the days" to let them know what really happened. And promises to odo right by them from now on.

In the end they do and update with what is going on now with the workers and one of the five doesn't work there anymore b/c he got work with hospitals doing some motivational type stuff.

The only other good side was the overworked and under paid lady got a promotion and hired TWO people to do the job she was doing. and was able to keep her home.

the other three were simply nothing speical.

Next week we get to see the Pres. of Hooters and Fromthe preview if he doesn't fire one of his shop managers I'll flip.

I started watching but got side tracked.... I plan or recording the series (looks interesting :))

Did tape it last night but haven't watched it yet. Thanks for ruining it for me:D

Does look like a cool show though.

Man i love that show now some of the peopls storys touched me and i thought i had some probs

It's a good show. Definitely a good eye opener for corporate leaders. I really do believe that they don't understand or care what people have to put up with when it comes to their decisions.

Looked way to rehearsed to me. All those district managers had to of given some type of heads up. and the lady reading the letter - yeah okay -

Or how they have camera's inside the house when he knocks on the door to come to the womens house for supper.

I'm not saying certain parts of the show arn't scripted but I think that for this part a reasonable explination would be that since he was supossed to be shooting a documentary about entry level jobs that it would have covered the home life of the people as well. And they simply could have done a real walk up to the house with crew and a second one with the crew insode to shot.

My wonder is how long do you think that the high ups will truly care. I mean the guy seemed to care but over time living that nice lifestyle that he does it would be easy for him to forget the hardships of the people that make him rich.
