Hi!
It has been 25 yrs since I bought an undergravel filter, so I need help getting up to speed on how to differentiate them and which work best.
They are very simple, so my guess is there is no big difference between performance with regards to brands and design. Please share your thoughts!

I use them on everything but my 90 gallon. The perfecta flow is a nice one I got it on my 55 community. They are all essentially the same. And no matter what anyone says you cant beat the bio they provide for any price. I say go for it.

Good info. This is a 125. A guy on ebay is selling a 125 undergravel filter that has a 72" X 12" footprint. I asked why not 18" wide and he told me it has a terrific draw. I think it should be 18" wide. Any thoughts?

Id say go for it. The extra 6 inches im not too sure if it would be able to pull from all the way out there. I have never run in to this issue though. Do you plan on using power heads or air stones? I got air stones and they work very well a nice slow draw makes sure the water has more contact time with the bio active gravel.

Oh btw nothings changed with under gravel filters in 25 years with the exception of reverse under gravel filters.
