I'm sure most of you have already seen these.. but if you haven't then here is the link where I got it from. http://www.cichlid-forum.com/articles/ug_jets.php
and this is my description.. I'm going to hook up a powerhead to a couple pieces of PVC so that it pushes water out through various parts of my tank which will hopefully keep all of the bad stuff out of my substrate. The frame of it will look something like this.

this is how the powerhead will be set up

and these will be the outputs (bent PVC softened by boiling)

my question is this. Say I put 5 outputs on the PVC frame, won't it just push most of the water out of the ones closer to the powerhead, or is it going to push it out equally?

well I made it and it works really good. It will work better when I get a bigger bubbler to push bubbles through it. Pics upon request.

What do you mean "Pics upon request", You know they're mandatory!

my little brother broke our digital camera so I can get some with my girlfriends tonight or I could take a video and put it on youtube. Both? They iwll be posted later, don't worry.

It works good but I only have a 170gph power head on it right now, when I get my 290gph off of bigals I will really be in business. The best part about this was I did it all by eye, sitting in a chair just cutting random chunks of PVC off with my crappy circular saw. Only took me like 10minutes and less than $5 worth of PVC, no gluing necessary.

As long as the total number of holes is LESS than the unrestricted output of the powerhead...all of the holes will have an almost equil flow rate because the pipe will act as a plenum in much the same way that a spray bar works.
