How big of a tank is he getting? because the tank is soooooo small i think putting in a uncycled larger tank would be better. It would have a better chance.

I have been kind and have sent him here many times before, you people are so narrow minded it aint even funny, you think i have not done any of this stuff before.... Cant just assume stuff!!!!
Look in a mirror, before you called others narrow minded... You're the narrow minded, who can't take other's suggestion, and just assume stuff (yes, it aint even funny) :screwy::duh: :thumbsdow

:topic: lets talk about fish. Not all of this bickering. do not involve me. I am on neither side.

Why do posts like this get so off topic and aggressive. I would say lets all stop being so defensive and get back to the topic but I am sure this thread is going to be shut down soon anyway.

The real problem is that these pet stores just selling anything to anybody with out informing them on what they are buying

Very true. Most inexperienced, new owners get oscars like this from Wal-mart, Petco, and Petsmart. And these stores often don't care about educating the buyer and only care about making the sale and getting a profit. Really why should they care, they don't take fish back months later if it doesn't work out anyhow. But it is still ultimately the person purchasing the fish's responsibility to give it the care it needs. And posting examples like this on a fish forum is mostly just preaching to the choir.

What really bugs me about the people who bought it was they where told it would need a Large tank, they still bought it however, saying "we will upgrade" she also bought it for 3 times the amount that it was worth. it is very sad, nothing i say helps!!!

Every beginner overstocks there tanks right. I used to overstock my tanks. Just not to this degree. they should get at least a 20 gallon tank for now. But then they will have to upgrade again. a 20 gallon should probably hold for a few months. But they will need to upgrade to a 70 gallon long-term.
