Unexpected FM fry

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Yes increase of temp will definitely do it for some species simulate's the season to spawn. Apparently the condition"s in the aquarium are just right. I suggest you start a journal and log down all parameters, temperature, also what you are feeding them etc.

My guess is the polys at night. Could be more natural light, maybe the increase in temp but that is a pretty small increase. Could be hormones in the water from the fms.
Since the fry i've seen a lot more hunting behaviour when it comes to my delhezi, he's perching a lot more and i've even seen him dig next to the fry (Waiting for an ambush?) while he usually stays and digs on the other side of the aquarium. So I guess that could be right, haven't seen them eat anything yesterday and normally I do.

It's easy to forget that polys are incredible hunters, as I can drop pellets on their heads and they wont even budge. Or if they try to find food and cant find it at all even though it's next to them.

Will .5C have this much of an effect? I guess it seems logical, but didn't think such a little change in temp could trigger it so hard.

This is a good idea, i'll try to setup an excel page so it's easier to share digitally.

I also put in some extra driftwood that's still floating, hoping it will function as a sight breaker and create some more hiding places.
