Well I took a trip to the LFS today, got some silversides and some other misc. things. My cousin tagged along, he also has a couple tanks. Well to make a long story short, he bought some new fish, and in turn, gave me 2 of his that were getting to big for his tank. SO..... I now have a 6"+ Jaguar Cichlid, and a relatively same sized Syno Cat. I don't know much about these cats, nor do I know its exact species, so any help on that would be appreciated!!!!

synodontis eupterus.
they are cool. I had one. a big one. they can be aggressive, but that's good if he's gonna live with a jag.

Thats it!!! Thanks. Hes the smallest in my tank, so he better be a little agressive (not that my other fish are, but they are much bigger).

They have been in the tank now for a few hours, everybody seems copacetic!

Is your cousin mrbigglesworth? Jk, very nice jag!

I do not belive so. lol. And thank you! They are a nice addition to the tank! The syno is fun, he just roams all around the tank, minding his own, and everybody seems to just ignore that he is even there.

Is the syno with the RTC?

Yes he is. I was a bit worried about his size when I got him from my cousin's tank. But he seems large enough.. Honestly its almost as if none of the other fish even know he is there (obviously they do... ) but they pay NO attention to him!

Unfortunantly, my cousin isn't what we here would call the "Ideal" fish keeper. I have tried to share my little bit of knowledge with him, but he is stubborn. With that said, it was either I took these fish, or they were getting "flushed".

I love my cousin, he is family, and the closest thing to a brother I have since mine died in 2010. But some of the things he does with his fish angers me beyond belief, but I cannot make him change!

Either way, I wasnt sure if these fish would work out or not. But they seem to be doing well!!!
