Unexpected pairing

If they were not hybrids then I would not have any issues giving it away. Then again, no one might even want them because jag's & Dovii's are very common. I just don't want to see them at fish stores labeled as "JOVII'S" :D

Anyway, they are scattered all over my 210 G tank. I use a wet dry filtration so guess what's in my sump? I had to take out some of their neighbors because now that the fry's free swimming, they would not even allow other fishes to move. Crazy Parents.

1 male Dovii and I can't read their minds so I did not think they would spawn. Are you saying that if I had more dovii's in there it would not have happened? So you're implying that the title should be "EXPECTED PAIRING"

My female Dovii jumped out and died a few weeks before I introduced the jaguar. I bought the jaguar thinking it was a male for my female jaguar in my other 210 parachromis tank. It turned out to be a female and was getting very aggressive towards the other fishes. It was probably raised without tank mates. So I decided to temporarily put it in my dovii tank for a few days before I trade it in for a new female Dovii.

i do not think that you could have ever dreamed or planned for this union to occur so for you to explain something that happened between two fish is like trying to explain why the sky is blue.. nature is nature.. i would never have thought these two would get together.. i have a female jag in with my male green terror ..should i be worried?? i don't give it a second thought..well until now haha..are you going to keep the female jag now.. you know she is a great mother and great breeder..you just have to introduce her to the right guy.

That's what I'm saying. Yeah, now you should be worried the your jag and GT would cross breed :D.

I'll keep the female jag and find her a MALE umbee....just kidding........a male jaguar :D. My friend has 4 female dovii's and he offered to give me his matured female. Everything's going to work out after all. As for the fry, I'll seperate a few and grow them out.
 
Thats great because i would love to see them as older babies.. and glad too that your keeping mom..:D
 
UPDATE:

I separated the female jaguar and fry and the first thing she did was to hire a fry sitter (my 8” female Haitiensis) :D. Check it out.

I introduced two female Dovii’s (Nicaraguan and Costa Rican) to my male Dovii and he chose the smaller Nicaraguan female as his partner.
 
i cant wait untill they get bigger
