it depends on what state, in FL you need a permit for all venomous but in GA, you can keep native hots without permits but are not allowed to keep a corn snake... it gets confusing but it is different from state to state.

that is a wacky form of logic there, but congrats on the little batch...they look awesome!

what does the price have to do with anything? just because I am selling them cheap does not mean that I am going to let an idiot have one. If I don't feel comfortable with a person owning one then I will not sell it to them. Most hot keepers are a very tight loop and know one another or a friend of a friend so it is not difficult to get a reference on someone. I also have a copy of venom101 with me that I encourage people to read before getting a hot. It is a short book (25pages) pages on the best possible way to keep hots.

and what is wrong with getting some spending money? You sell animals don't you? What do you get in return? Money!

Here's the cold hard truth......You price them low to the general public, they will eventually fall into the wrong hands.......You're telling me that you know or reference everyone in the Carolinas?........There are quite a few wholesalers that will take them all, without the liability involved. Who will only sell to qualified facilities or individuals, because they aren't going to take any chances. There are too many idiot scenarios involved with selling hots at a show. I'm sure any who's ever been to a hot show can attest to that fact.

With the heat that has been put on the Reptile community in general, the Venomous community needs to be idiot proof. I know, I'm a part of it, and I see way to much rampant jackassery involved.......

There is nothing wrong with making money, but when you're selling something akin to a loaded gun, the odds tell me someone is going to shoot themselves more sooner than later..........And at $20 a piece, the odds just got that much better, and easier........

hey snakeguy, did you make sure you found them all? lol that would be an even more unexpected surprise!

as for eric, snakeguy knows what he's doing! why else would his name be snakeguy:p

And what selling it for $100 is going to fix that? I seem to remember a recent thread that debated on responsibility and wealth and how they had NOTHING to do with each other. Like I said, I am not going to sell it to someone that I don't fell comfortable with and check references when I can. What else do you want me to do?
