Are these the same jags you mentioned earlier?

I think if I get too many babies i'll just have to introduce a predator into the tank!
YUP!!

I'm not too sure what it would take to thin them with another pred.
The Mom and Dad don't let me in the tank without a fight to the finish.

I can't do too much with them in the tank, they have both bit me, tore the mesh in one of my nets, bit the aluminum handle so hard I could feel the chomp in the handle, and the Male has made it all the way to the floor trying to get after me...after I tossed him back in, he wasn't done either...So of course I just leave well enough alone and try to stay away unless I am doing w/c's or feeding...

The fiasco I had getting the new spawn out would have made a great video...think a really large pond net, clay pot and attached Managuensis

are firemouth easy to breed?

Extremely. My pair spawns about every 2 weeks. The pair does get a little aggressive towards each other when spawning, and caring for the young. I typically move the fry at 5 days old. I bought my pair for $70 shipped ground.

Male is around 4-5"
Female is slightly smaller.

You should have recorded that and posted it!

For my firemouth's I bought four from a lfs that were all about 1-2" in length. Almost immediately I had a pair and 3 weeks later I have fry lol
