UNFORTUNETLY A SUMP IS NOT AN OPTION

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Small containers on a shelf above the tank running in a loop from bottom to top via tank connectors. Pump up to the first container and let gravity feed it back into the tank.

Just another idea

Do what you want i did that and just ended up buying canisters later because i was tyired of my setup being throwen to gether. http://cgi.ebay.com/CANISTER-Aquari...5|66:2|65:12|39:1|240:1318|301:0|293:1|294:50 i just bought two of these for my 180 and the water is so clear it dont even look like theres water in it. I all so run an overflow box to a tank with the bucket of bio balls that has holes in it then an quiet one pump to a power head to curculat the water. No offence this just my opinion, good luck. turn the tank in to a sump. if its siting in there with no uses, use it.
That is a sweet canister :headbang2Sound advice as well. Make it pretty :)

Howdy,

Get an Eheim 2262 and be done with it

Thanks for all your opinions. One reason why i wanted to go with the DIY idea I talked about in my first post was that all the high quality aquarium stuff out here is just so expensive, and being 15 and not having a lot of money doesnt help. TTT

Howdy,

In that case you may want to consider a smaller set-up which you can afford?! At your age, I had a 15 gal knowing I'd some day upgrade when I have enough cash to do it right.

Ill just have to wait till the summertime when i visit my grandparents. When i go and visit them i usually work in their resturant for a few weeks. After that ill have a few hundred dollars to spend on the filtration. Filtration is pretty much the only thing left i got to do on the tank till its finished.
