Unidentified goby.

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Looks a lot like the Eleotris Vittata I had. But quite a few are very similar so difficult to nail completely. This was mine that I had.

See Oddballs post for name and size.

For tank size I'd say 75 gal bare minimum but I have heard they are more active then other gobies so possibly larger. Ideally a 6x2 footprint.
Would 8' by 3' be okay, for life? thanks a ton!!!

Yes so you wan't to put it in your pond it has a turtle in it does it not i wouldn't do it then these fish don't move much and generally just loaf on the bottom and would be an an eazy target so it would most likely be killed

Reminds me of Eleotris picta :)

Yes unfortunately it does have a turtle.
Here is the ONLY options
30" tank with apisto's,
45" planted tank with pike cichlid and possibly acarichthys heckelli and other fish.
8' long pond, with turtle, pike cichlids, oscar, and possibly some other cichlids.
give it away to a fish shop were it will most likely suffer and eat uninformed noob's fish.
but then of course there is a ten gallon tank too:D
i could kill it but i obviously DONT want to do that. :irked:
actually there might be a chance in a hundred that i could get a five foot tank in about a year but my great (not being sarcastic) parents think i have a enough "big" tanks already. :nilly:
well thanks a lot. and bye:)

Keep it in which ever tanks you can for now. It shouldn't require a ton of room but bigger is better. Shoot for a 48x18 tank sometime in the future and that would house it for a very very long time.

WILL DO
