I was watching my tank the other night, and while I watched my bubble system pouring out from under a rock structure I made a tank idea occured to me. Those red clawed crab I've seen most say they require land access. What if you used a air pump system to create a land oasis underwater, this would of course require a structure, preferably transparent, that would capture the air from pump and create a land oasis underwater. The more I though about it the more awesome the idea seemed. Does this type of thing already exist as far as anyone know? If so I would love to see it. I dont have to ability to make such a tank but I can't be the first to think of it.

I would LOVE to see a sketch up of this

Yes, I've seen this idea brought up before. Watch out for:

The surprisingly strong lifting power of the bubble.

Making sure fresh air is entering and old air is exiting the bubble to avoid suffocating animals trying to use it as atmospheric air.

I tried this a few years ago when I just got a 29g. I had 2 red clawed crabs I think so I took a decently big jar, and place it in the sand at an angle so there was a mini beach in there. You gotta work pretty hard to secure it so the air doesn't float your container up. It looked and worked pretty cool but both the crabs escaped within the new few days and I havn't tried them again since..

done and done. It's called an underwater oasis and is readily available at most retailers.

I don't see fresh air entering that device. Or is that a bubble escaping out of the front?
