Don't be embarrased. They are fun to keep, I have 7 currently and they are very cool to keep. Answer to the 150 I think you will be fine with that for years, they grow extremely slow.

Well if they did out grow that years from now, I mean years!! Then you can sell them to a mfker. There are plenty of people that would be happy to take 10'' clown loaches, but it would be about a decade for them to reach such a size anyways, possibly even longer. Its a cartoon picture of a clown loach, I can understand. Clown Loachs sell for a ton of money when they get big, just start over with little ones again. The 12'' size shouldn't scare people from keeping them, they grow so slow once they hit the 4-5'' range.
