Well I have a buddy who's an ATF agent. I'll ask him about it.

Good idea, but ATF and FBI are two completely different spectrum of law enforcement.

I'm aware of that. My dad used to work for the FBI but that was during the mid 80's and things have changed since then. It shoots a projectile so it's considered a gun so yes, the ATF would be interested in it.
