came across this guy and he is barely alive. I am talking paper thin! that's how i got him. about a month agao and has not grown or fattened up. he started on frozen then just stopped eating in general..went 3 weeks with eating nothing as he was barely eating when i got him.
well i threw in some angel wriggling fry and he's pounding them but wont eat any other live foods. only the angel fry. i will try ghost shrimp next but they are usually to big for him to eat. but at least he's eating. well i actually feed him like a baby because he stopped eating them. i think he's too weak to go chasing fry.. i used a dropper filled with fry and force feed it into his moth. been doing that for a few days and it seems like its working as he is starting to gain body mass upfront but still paper thin by the tail. but still doesn't have any interest in foods. if you can see in the pics.
i did my usually remedy for dats...he's by himself, salted tank, and as usually the temp at 86 degrees at night and 87 during the day..it maybe high for some people but this always works for me..all my other tanks are set at a steady 82-84 degrees...
i need 2 things for a feed back:
1) ID on the dat pls...
2) anyone else having the same problem?
have had many dats for many years for all sp. and never really encountered this problem as dats are hardy by nature...\
thank you in advance for you input! sorry piics are bad i tried my best to take a picture of a 1" juvie. would pull him and get a out of tank shot but i surely dont want to kill him as he is stressed as in. for the most part he's stable 100 percent of the time his bars are always black.

Laosy Fish and enjoy....
