At the show they had 3 for $55 each, but they didn't look healthy. They are an awesome species, but I bet those 3 would have been a gamble

It's definately a Cameroon Sailfin chameleon (Chamaeleo cristatus) based on the description. They are a little known species with horns, a back sail, and a tail sail. Theses are the only chameleon species with a definite sail, which rules out Panthers, Jacksons, mellers, and Nosys. Some Vieled chameleons are sold under the name Sailfin so beware of imitators. I've been raising and breeding chameleons for some years now and have come across this species a few times. It's very interesting and i would suggest buying one or two or three, $55 is a good price(normal prices are between $80-$100). Their care is pretty similar to most chameleon species but they are notoriously hard to breed. Unless they have a serious disease properly cared for, they could become healthy. It's probably wisest to keep each individual isolated because they have a tendency to be aggressive, especially among females.

Yeah, someone linked to that same picture earlier. I believe that's what they were. I'm considering adding another herp to my collection. I was thinking turtle, but if I see these again, I might consider getting one. Even looking rather skinny and a very dark stressed color, they were still very cool looking. I guess I'll see how much extra money I end up with this summer. I have always wanted a chameleon. That was actually the first herp I asked for as a kid, but I ended up with anoles instead...lol

Lol ya anoles seem to be really popular among parents with a stigma against reptiles. Ya they don't sound really diseased, just a little stressed and neglected from the move. BTW did you happen to take note of the vendor name? I know Kammerflage creations frequents the shows with these species.

I don't remember who the vendor is, but they're always at the show. They have the same staples every time like various tree frogs and pacmans, small lizards, boas, king snakes, and then they have a section of their booth that changes out all the time. I've seen everything from juvie Aldabra giant tortoises to mountain horned dragons in that rack section of the booth.
