Maybe its because im sick and can't sleep so I have stayed up so far till 2am but I just got even more confused, maybe I will check back in the morning after I get some sleep to make sense of this :) at me.

The output of the canister is 1" because you fit two different tube sizes on the output? or.....

Ok...checking back when I wake up..haha.

Yeah thats right,..

This is a photo of my modern Eheim 2260, showing the canister lid and 1260 pump. The hole you see on the left side of the pump is for the Outlet fitting & hose that returns the water to your aquarium.

This is a pic of the drain tap on the bottom of the filter. I don't know if you have this Quick Disconnect adapter on your filter but it is still available for purchase. It allows you to drain the water out of your filter for cleaning. The green hose is the intake TO the filter. That is the recessed fitting on the bottom of the canister.

Here is a link to the current model Eheim 2260 filter.

I doubt that this filter would use 2 pumps. One is probably a spare or was used for another purpose. The suction/intake hose FROM your aquarium to the filter fitting, on the bottom, is 1 inch or Eheim hose 25/34mm. The return/pressure hose TO your aquarium is 5/8" or Eheim hose 16/22mm.

That is an awesome find of a filter. You have a lot of options for filling it with media. I use 5 Liters of Ehfimech on the bottom, about 3" thick. Then I use a coarse homemade filter pad about 3" thick. Then bio media in a bag for easy removal. Then a foam pad as final media.

If you have any more questions, just ask.

Jay, if you are referring to my pics, that's fine with me. I've actually got quite a few of all my Eheim filters.

Is the drain valve on the suction side of the filter? It looks like it... If so, put a ball valve on the suction intake of the canister, this way you can reduce the intake and put a gravel cleaner on the drain valve :)

This beast is now in my possesion. :D It is going to help out on the 300g. I will stay with this thread since all the info is here and keep ya'll updated to my progress with it. To busy right now though. Stay tuned! :naughty:

Okay, so I don't feel like reading through the whole thread, but duke33, you have the early version of the 2250, 2260 ish. These things are work horses, and basically bullet proof. I believe they were the 2034. If you ever decide you don't want it... let me know.
