I have a school of unidentifiable minnows. They are all about 2.4 inches long and have a balck stripe with a shiny strip above it that shines at certain angles. The closest thungs I could fund to it were the slender rasbora and the yellowtail rasbora. It is unlikely to be a shiner since where I live shiners are hard to come by (only shiners I've ever seen were red shiners) and most likely wouldn't be put into a tank of feeder fish.

Sand shiner maybe?!

Looks like a female Fathead Minnow. (Pimephales promelas)

I have many in my pond. Rosy Minnows are a variant of the Fathead. I bought a bunch of Rosys and got a few of the natural color versions too. Now they are breeding on their own.

Still not it. My minnows have forked tails and the edges are not round. They are also most likely Asian fish, since thats where I live. We have different exotic feeders here.

I'd say you're right with yellowtail/slender rasbora ID, but it'd kinda hard to determine whichever one they are since they've got a washed out coloration.

These were being sold as feeders where I live. Bought like 4 bags of them, each bag had like 20 fish. Didn't know how big they could get until I saw a 4 inch one hiding amongst some 1.5 inchers.

Hello; I picked up a few small fish from an area fish shop in Kingsport TN (USA) a couple years ago. I believe they are the same fish. The shop labeled them as brilliant rasboras. I have not done any digging into them so canot add much. They have been very hardy.
