Yeah locally anything but delhezi endli and Senegal is rare in most areas. Hell only other species I've EVER found for sale other then those was my weeksii, but it was mislabeled as a delhezi! I argued with the shopkeep the day after just to be helpful and make sure they know they get much larger then dels and he wouldn't believe me! Until I showed him pictures from Google on my phone then a pic of the weeksii right next to my Del haha.

I'd talk em down, for that much money you can place an order to Jurassic aquatics and get a moke and a palma's palmas or some oddball or pleco. They have great service, never heard a negative review and I've never had issues.

Also for that much a moke will be sitting there for a while.if it is 12 inch that's HUGE I'd like to see it with size reference if you get it!

On that note I've been looking to find a good spot to order rare ancient fish and exotic freshwater. I want some small UJ bichirs to grow out. My ansorgi still has it's external gills and looks like a newt lol Anybody know any reputable shops or websites?

Jurassic Aquatics is a vendor that usually has some smaller (4-5 inch plus) UJs, with mokes and palmas complexes usually being the smallest they get. Rehoboth Aquatics also has a good wider bichir selection then most. Aquascapeonline also usually has dels and ornates, along with decent size senegals but rarely anything else. My cousin got a great ornate from them.

On a side note I recommend a ctenopoma for your poly tank, IME they seem to feed together and hang out together a lot. Some interesting behavior while hunting ghost shrimp too, they kind of come from both angles on a group and the cten would grab em if they popped up and the bichirs would grab the ones that stayed on bottom

That is a good match up. I have one leopard ctenopoma if that is what you meant. I also have a leichartdi aro on top, two Florida "water pikes", along with a few other things you don't see everyday. My tank is a perfect balance and everybody fills their own little jobs. I've always been surprised that no matter the size of bichir they will not cannibilise each other. Is jurassic aquatics a website or what ?

they are a vendor on here, they have a section in the vendor forum down at the bottom. They also have a Facebook page if you are into that lol. I highly recommend them as well they are very reputable and along with great fish has heat customer service.
