I was just doing water change on my 10g and suddenly noticed some kind of weird stuff in the tank. it's kind of a very thin plastic film but breaks in the million pieces when I tried to net it out.
Seems like they were peeled off the glass as I was vacuuming the tank.
I sucked most of them out using my WC tube but once I add new water in it showed up again.
anyone have an idea what this might be? I used prime in new water, could that be the cause?? but I've never seen anything like this in my 180g.

looks like plastci wrapper

that's what it looks like but it's not. plastic wrapper wouldn't break into tinny pieces when you touch it and it's much much thinner than plastic wrapper.
all those tinny dots and pieces you see in the background are the same stuff that broke off from a larger piece when I tried to net it out.
I thought I was seeing things but I didn't have any drink nor any medication so....

dude...I have no idea what that is. Only thing I can think of is maybe some kind of film coating the glass of the tank.

I will say that I use prime on a regular basis and I've never seen anything like that before. Good luck.

Might be some kinda meds or water treatment left over Bro, then dried on the glass...
Take everything out of the tank and clean with vinager, then soap and warm water...use a brush to get all that stuff off...then rinse, rinse, rinse, and when you got it all rinsed really good....yup!! rinse again...good thing for you it will fit in the dishwasher if you can sneek it past the Wifey!!...just do the Heavy Duty cycle, Med heat NO DISHWASHER SOAP and air dry for the final wash/rinse...

Problem without knowing what it is, you don't know if it is inert or toxic...so I caution on the side of POISON and clean it all out...Keep the filters in good de-chlorinated water while you do the GI to the 10gal tank...

Arn't you glad it was a small hospital rather than a 100gallon hospital??!?
good luck with that bro....~BenO;):D

do u have good surface movment to break up the water, I had this problem myself but it was on one side of my tank I think all it is is just minerals and stuff from your aquarium floating to the surface and clumping into a film and water changes wont help this just get som surface movment

I have a sponge filter in there so there's surface movement. before I filled the tank up i scrubbed it good with clean dish wash scrubber pad (the one that won't scratch). I guess I'll just have to clean it again. hope it won't kill my baby aro.
and I'm so glad it's only a 10g. lol
