I've got a rough theory that fish can sense some sort of pressure change in the air with the seasons as I've noticed with mine and lots of other peoples fish tend to spawn when spring comes. But who knows?
Nice job OP, that's a whole lot of eggs.

Hope they take on the gold traits of the dad...but will see.
