Hi
Need some help and advise here
my rays seems to be unsettle in the tank despite being in the tank for almost 1 month now.
I have 3 rays in a 6x2x2 running on a ohf with 10 liters of eheim substrate pro. Wc is 30% every 2 -3 days and feeding is done twice a day with sotong + mp. There is one acdc + one big air pump running at full blast ever since.
The problem is the rays dun ahve very good appetite and was breathing heavily since the wc last night. i did everything as safe and carefull possible. added antichlorine b4 adding water + turn down the water flow from the tap as low possible. but yet my rays seems to be unsettle + seems to be stress or sick. I have added salt into the tank ( disolve first).

Please advise where did i do wrong or what is wrong.

Are u suggesting i m doing too much wc? n i should limit it down to 2 times a week or once a week?

how is the temprature difference in the water change? since its only 30% shouldnt be too bad.

i wuld also trun up the temprature a little bit as you add teh salt. they work together.
have a look in the stickies for exactly to waht temp you shoudl turn it up too.

what about light? is the tank fully lit all the time?
how long have you had the rays for?

if they are new, you gotta keep the tank dark, and for a while too. im talking days.
use a towel to keep the tank dark if needed.

then try feeding , remeber to take it out if they dont eat.

but if they are new jsut give them some time to settle... takes time.

what rays do you have? size? pics? any signs of sickness?
30% 2-3 days isnt enough to throw a ray off. Might be a good idea to mix up the diet though. Do you thaw out your food before you feed it?

What type of rays and how big are they? Could your water hardness be extremely low causing ph fluctuations just after water changes. Check your water hardness and check your ph of your tank just before a water change and then check your tap water ph to see if there is a difference. Was this tank cycled first before the rays went in it? For now leave the lights off and the tank covered to allow the rays to feel secure.

I have 2 marble motoro inside + 1 motoro inside. each about 6 -7 inch
the water hardness should not be too low as i m buffering my tnak with almost 2kg of coral chips.
The tank has been runing for almost 3 years now
I m leaving the lights off for ow. i dun usually leave it on for long hours. just during the feeding hours

I can't see any problems with what your doing. Do you have any other fish in with the rays? It sounds like thier stressed but not sure why.
