I don't think the barbs can stressing them out, maybe is time to check your ammonia brudder...

it is 0 or close to 0ppm.
i suspect it is the water. going to age my water d ler.

What are you using for your water conditioner? With the amount of water changes you do, the frequency, the amount of biomaterial, size of tank and the size of rays your water should be fine depending on the conditioner you use or if your tap water is bad. I'm still leaning towards the barbs. What do you think could be wrong with your water?
 
i m using tensiongone as my conditioner. been using it for almost 2 years now with no problem.
