btw, that lioness who adopted the oryx was on the national geographic channel a few weeks ago. she was literally starving herself because she wouldnt leave the little guys side to go kill . she actually fought off a pride of lions who wanted to eat him and her killer instinct didnt kick in even then! i was soo amazed at how she really protected him. but, he couldnt feed and was starving to death too.
the photographer and crew were actually really worried she would starve to death and were going to separate them when the little baby was killed. it was sad..
these kinds of stories just go to show that there is compassion in all living things, and i know that other species can feel emotions like we do.. love, hate, etc..
