thanks guys for all your inputs, yeah, it was kinda weird the aro really liked the bubbles. I figured, it may be the bubbles or the current the bubbles create over the water that the aro liked so I took the airstone out and added another filter (smaller internal filter) that creates little bubbles and some current.
I'm still not really sure if it is the bubbles or current though. Now he likes to swim upstream against the flow of water from my older bigger external filter (and from time to time jumps as if he can swim atop the flowing water *OG* I hope he does not gorge his eyes out or something against the tube)
Anyway, this has been really weird, but I'm planning to make a bubble buffet for my lil friend in around a month just like muckieman said. For now, I'll reduce the water a bit and make sure he does not reach the tube where the water flows from my external filter.
