Unusual fish found with feeders. ID plz

Can anyone ID this guy for me? I was looking at the minnows i got from the local bait store and saw 3 of these guys swimming away from the pack of the "crappie minnows" (basically grey rosies). I think they look like little walleye because of the elongated body and spikey fins but could be wrong. Any ideas?

A chub that looks exactly like a brook stickleback.

Chub don't have the spines in front of the dorsal, nor do they have the patterning that is evident on the fish in the op's pic.

Um that's not sauger. That is a brook stickleback...dirty common in bait stores and often mixed with "crappies" and fathead minnows.

100% correct.

Sticklebacks were the very first fish I ever kept, they are very familiar to me...if in doubt check the link I provided in my first post in this thread. That should clear up the mud being stirred around in this thread.
