It looks like a Heros Sp. (Rio Negro) crossed with a Heros Sp. (Turquoise) due to the lack of the bar and dots on the tail.

"efasciatus" means "no vertical bar". It refers to the lack of vertical bars on the type specimen. All other Heros species have pronounced vertical bars.

He's about 6" or so.

No, got him from the LFS. They had a bunch of juveniles labeled red-shouldered severum. I asked the guy if that was the same as a rotkiel, and he said yes. I would have bought a couple more if I knew they would turn out so nicely.
