I thought I'd start this thread after seeing something peculiar at the bottom of my little hex tank this morning during my morning check routine.

Something caught my eye, a small carcass, I had to double take and have a closer look. Turns out it was a house spider, very much dead!

It wasn't there yesterday so I reckon it was scurrying across the ceiling last night on a hunting expedition, lost its footing and unfortunately it wasn't a nice soft carpet it fell onto, but my tank!

It's about 1" or so, way to big for my Serpae tetras to have made a meal out of it, so it just drowned!

I bet, over the years that all of us have had something unwanted fall into our tanks/ponds, a lot bigger than my spider too! In Fishman Dave Fishman Dave case it was HE who actually fell into his pond. Sorry for reminding you pal!

So come on, tell us your tales. And duanes duanes , no showing off. God only knows what you've discovered in your outdoor jungle tank over the years, lol.

Poor spider below. RIP.

Poor thing lost all eight of it's footings!
Years ago,I had a wolf fish in a tank with no lid.I went to bed one evening and when I went to check on the wolf the next morning it was sitting on the gravel with the ass end of a mouse sticking out of its mouth...the poor bastard must have slipped and fell into the tank while it was playing around in the dark or it may have reached down to take a drink of water and would up getting grabbed and dragged down to the depths!

My garage is my fish/reptile room, so it’s usually bugs, mostly mosquitoes, but my fish eat them. I can always tell when a bug has fell in because either there’s water on the floor or dried water spots on the tank from the fish snapping them

Wait, did you go full Coyote Peterson?
I don't do it on purpose like he does, I'm just at the wrong place, at the wrong time.
Put on my pants one morning, and forgot to shake them out. Scorpionn got me twice on the arse.
The worst was stepping on a sting ray, in knee deep water, went straight to the bone, andit bled the entire walk home, then had to pour almost boiling water on it, to get rid of the toxin, and sheath. It produced a dull ache for a couple months. Below almost right after the mis-step.IMG_0340.jpeg

Damn, that’s nuts, especially the ray. I’ve spent all my life in the southwest and have had scorpions, centipedes, snakes and widows all around, but have never taken a sting or bite from anything but mosquitos and bees.
I did have a javalina attack my car and knock the bumper off, leave two holes in the door and sh*t all over the car door for good measure
