Here in the next week i plan on going and buying the supplies for the outside cage im building (4x2.5x2) for my iguanas. Going to be building it for Ctenosaura palearis species.

So show them, i want to see everyones outside enclosures and when you move them in for winter. Need ideas, come on people and sup[port a local herper.

Don't have one yet, but as soon as we move and the weather warms up I'll be building one for my rhino iggy. Interested to see what others are using as well.

Go to Tom´s and agama international websites, they have good design ideas.

Tom crutchfield's enclosures should be a good example of a safe cage. Not exactly aesthetically pleasing though.

Sorry Etunes... I have no outdoor iguana setups.. (I dont do iguanas) I guarantee you, if you ask on the Kingsnake.com Cyclura/Cten forum they'd be happy to show you tons of examples. You can even search thru some old posts

O, srry figured you did. But you defiantly always have good advice. :headbang2

The thing is, you need to design yor enclosures based on what you have to work with.........If you apply what someone aleady has done to what you're trying to do, you'll end up with problems and design flaws........

Start with a 16" footer and work up.......I've never believed in having some type of bottom......You want burrowable soil so they can make burrows and nest sites.......Go look at atrium and patio design books, they will give you all the information you'll need to build up from the footers......

That makes since about the soil, but how do i know the soil at my house is ok? Also 1 thing comes to mind, FIRE ANTS.

I've never had anything but left over food bothered by Ants.......Unless what you were keeping was either dead or dying......
