its been over a month now since i acquired my rays and their healthier and more active then ever. they now spend about 80% of the day doing laps around the tank and shooting up and down in their favorite spot which is directly in front of the 1200GPH Powerhead. the other 20% their digging or eating. they never hide anymore, only when i do W/Cs.

I have had a bit of luck also trying to feed them Hikari Sinking carnivore Pellets. shortly after the pellets enter the tank they will swim over and dive into a cluster of pellets. they will then start chewing some of them up and then go around the tank with pellets rolling around on their disc as if the pellets were little basketballs on someones shoulders and back. they never seem to finish all the pellets however. i find little tiny pieces of pellets shortly after feeding them.

I finally discovered people to buy live food from. i bought 1/2 LB of black worms and 50 red wigglers to start. i haven't tried feeding either of them to my rays yet but i don't really think i will have much trouble getting them to eat these new worms, since Dew worms have been their favorite food from the start.

I also had a huge problem with my Ehiem 2028, i woke up and it wasn't pumping any water. i stayed calm and took it apart and did a bit of cleaning then put it back together. it still didn't work; i then started to get a bit nervous. the next day i took it to the store and had one of the staff look at it. He took everything apart! and couldn't fix it... so he said to leave it and the manager would look at it tomorrow.

the Next day (Valentines day) i went in and the manager told me that the pump had a lot of sand in it and also he couldn't find a small piece. i knew i brought ever thing the previous day and the piece was an internal part so basically the guy from the day before lost it. so they replaced the part free of charge.

I have been using a small abrasive sponge over the intake of my filter. this sponge was recommended by the owner of the store, however the manger said it not right for sand application and then sold me a very fine large soft one. i got home and after swallowing quiet a bit of water got my filter to work again!

overall my experience taught me to seek more professional help in the future.

I also got a huge package today from back east.
Here's some new pictures. please comment and give constructive suggestions thank u and enjoy!

Very nice! They seemed to have grown a lot!

Possibly yes....happened once to my little motoro and she had a circular thing on her disc. Didn't seemed to bother her but what the heck, better to be save than losing a ray. :D

^^^That too. :D

how come your using sponges on your filter intake ? Is your filter to strong that it will suck your rays ?

That would probably be to keep the sand out of the filter. The Rays throw sand around.
