Looks like a Tanzie!?!

IS it?????? Come from Wes that year and a half ago?

Wicked fish.

Good eye, Al. I went back and looked at the pics more closely and there are indeed three scales between the lateral line and pelvic fin insertion. :)

I was thinking tanzie cause the dorsal fin, I haven't noticed vatfs get the long dorsal like tatf do when being dominant. But I wouldn't say vatf don't, it could be just that, I never noticed. But chicx is good with looking at photos closely, I'd trust his word on it. And DB has had multiple, another trust worthy member.

I'd be VERY surprised if it wasn't a Tanzy.

It's very easy to tell the difference when you have similar sized Vatf and Tatf. The 2 species are like comparing a dog to a wolf or a wolf to a werewolf. The V would be a wolf and a T would be the after midnight - head grows, jaw thickens, bigger teeth, larger taller dorsal with a huge tether, bigger tail and an attitude that stands out amongst all species of ATF that I've kept. I only have one ATF that needs to be kept alone. And he looks just like the one in this thread.

He is a bit aggressive...my employee thought it would be a good idea to put a 7" koi in the tank when i wasnt in the office and it was in pieces within a second...I tried to explain to these people that these fish have no friends...

You know the thing about a Tiger Fish, he's got... lifeless eyes, black eyes, like a doll's eye. When he comes at ya, doesn't seem to be livin'. Until he bites ya and those black eyes roll over white. And then, ah then you hear that terrible high pitch screamin' and the tank turns red and spite of all the poundin' and the hollerin' they all come in and rip you to pieces.

Great quote, good job on that. One of my favorite movie scenes.
