Update for my NTT

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Thanks for the reply buddy, when i put the tinnys and IT in it really helped the rtg calm down but since then i thought i was having water problems as i had readings of nitrate, and i put the erosion of his scales down to that as it doesnt look like it would make it look like that but seems abit too much of a coincidence.
Il see if it improves when i get my big tank.

Just taken a look at your set up and RTG thread, i must say very nice and clean tanks. Thant's what my tank is lacking, I just don't have the eye for it as you do.
I can't really see any marks but i need to look closely at my own fish to see it.
But yes i think it's damage from your IT, It looks like just the surface has been scrached off, about 2 to 3 mil wide. My RTG has chipped scales and has knocked a few scales off in the past. It's only since my NTT has started to stick up for itself that i've seen these marks. When the NTT goes it's jaws extend, but lightning fast. The RTG gets out of the way pretty quickly as well.
I know it's a powerful hit, this may sound strange but if i'm watching closely when it happens, it's like i can feel the power of the strike!

So true . Never underestimate the power of a tiger fish bite :D
hope the arros are ok. They'll soon get their revenge when they get 2 ft..

I think it results from the tranquilness of a tank suddenly being interrupted by
a sudden burst of power and movement.

nice thin bar, and your aro is beautiful! i really wish they were legal here

A few pictures of my NTT. In one you can see the bully. It strange how they live together. You'd expect the RTG to be in control. The NTT lives in the teracota barrel, the RTG does try to nip it but most of the time the NTT shoots out and hits it on the gill plates. I've started to notice small nicks on the surface of the gill plates now, as if the top layer of flesh is being sucked or bitten off.
I am going to get 2 more NTTs to live in this tank.

Hi Friend, I also got 1 NTT is 5.5" inch.
Like to ask- How's the value between NTT tiger fish and the Siamese tiger fish?

NTT in Thailand about 200Baht. Pulcher 10 to 20,000Baht.
