They get FD krills, frozen shrimp, nightcrawlers, and a mix of 5-6 different pellets.

Thank you for the feedback.:headbang2 Do you mind sharing what kind of pellets you're feeding?:D I hope to bring my parrot back to health and come close to the spectacular fish you're caring for.

You have an amazing set-up!

king of the tank and his fins are still in perfect condition...your other fish are sissies lol.

Your male parrot looks great man. I have the same problem with my big abalios as well, but yours' trailers look amazing.

Thanks. You can tell by his trailer how happy he is in the tank. The orangeheads are a bit stressed tho.

Looking real nice Peter!!!!!!

Nice new additions too:drool:. Always thought dats look really cool with SA cichlids. Sevs, psittacus, uaru's, aro's, peacock bass all look real good with big dats!!!

I think my psittacus are about at breeding age. Going to separate them out in a few months and start boiling up my own black water extract to try to get some breeding. I ended up with one male and 3 females. So I got a good ratio!!!

Now I have tiger and phoenix....only thing missing is a dragon :naughty: How's your black aro doing? Pics?

Let me know what happens with the black water extract....Alex bred them in pH7 water...

I've got the Xtreme pellets from Ken, Massivore, Hikari Gold, Omega One shrimp pellets, and algae wafer. Got this idea from JD - just mixed them altogether in a bottle once a week...very easy comes feeding time.

LOL the same can be said about your GT John.

I've been thinking about other SAs that get big and likes soft and acidic water. Any ideas?

Black aro is getting huge. Pushing 18" a few weeks ago when I measured it.

Going to be a few months before I can dedicate a tank big enough to breed them. I'll let you know if they respond better to a lower PH.

Time to upgrade to a bigger tank and p-bass if you want more big fish that like soft water.

you NEED a pike peter. I think a Xingu I would look sick in your big tank

It would look nice. It would be swimming right in the middle and everything else will be cowering in the corners:). Those guys are brutal. Awesome looking, but not all to friendly. I like the lents but they are to mean for my fish.

its a crap shoot with pikes. from what i've gathered, they're more aggressive towards other pikes than other fish. mine's a pushover. i have a feeling the punctata is going to be an a-hole
